My name is Franco Bartolozzi and I’m from Cordoba, Argentina. I’m 15 years old and I go to San Jose school. I read the book Treasure Island, by Robert Stevenson. I read the book in the English class because my teacher suggested this book because she said it was interesting and entertaining.

The book is about a young man called Jim Hawkins. The story started when Jim has 12 years old. He lived with his father and his mother in an inn. His father was the inn’s owner. One day an old sailor called captain Bill came to the inn. The sailor drank a lot. After some days a doctor called Dr. Livesey came to see Jim’s father. Then Jim’s father and the sailor died. But the sailor had a wooden chest and a map. On the map it was shown how to find the treasure on a remote island. The treasure was of captain Flint and he was a dead pirate that killed many men and robbed many ships. Then Jim, Dr. Livesey and a rich man called Squire Trelawney went to the island. They travelled with Long John Silver who was an old sailor. They traveled in a ship called the Hispaniola and the captain was Captain Smollet. Silver was the cook of the ship and he chose the crew. In the trip Jim heard that Silver was planning to kill Jim and his partners. Later Jim said that to Livesey, Smollet and Squire. He was in a ship with a lot of pirates. Then Jim and the other partners managed to escape from the ship and they went to the island. They went to the stockade. Here Jim met Ben Gunn that was a pirate abandoned by flint on the island. Later Jim escaped from the stockade and he went to the ship. Then Jim returned to the stockade to see his partners but he found Silver and the pirates. The pirates forced Jim to go with them. They had the map so they started looking for the treasure but when they arrived the treasure was not there. Ben Gunn had taken the treasure before. In this moment Jim’s partners rescued him. Later they moved the treasure to the Hispaniola and returned to Bristol but Silver escaped and he took the part of the treasure. In England they shared the treasure. Jim and his mother bought a fine inn with the money. The story finished when Jim said “I did not want more adventures”.

The part that I liked most was when Jim heard that Silver had a plan to rob Flint’s treasure. This part is very intriguing because from that moment the story changes completely. None of us knew what could happen. My favorite character was Jim because he was the most intelligent and he participated in all the adventures.

I really liked the book because I love the stories of pirates. The topic is very interesting and appealing. I recommend the book because it’s an easy and exciting book to read.
